YOU TEACH FILIPINO SIGN LANGUAGE. HOW DIFFERENT IS IT FROM OTHER SIGN LANGUAGES?

Filipino Sign Language is a form of visual and manual communication that has its own linguistic features distinct from other sign languages. It is the natural language of communication preferred and used by majority of the Filipino Deaf. It is culture-based, and has uniquely evolved from the Filipino Deaf community. Deaf people from other countries also have their own sign language (e.g. Japanese Deaf people use JSL; British Deaf people use BSL, etc.)

CAN I ENROLL EVEN IF I DON’T KNOW ANY SIGN LANGUAGE AND EVEN IF I’M NOT FROM CSB?

DEPENDING ON MY SCHEDULE, CAN I ATTEND ONLINE CLASSES EVEN IF I AM ENROLLED IN A FACE-TOFACE CLASS? IS IT POSSIBLE TO GO BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN THESE TWO LEARNING MODALITIES?

Due to our limited resources, we only offer either FULL ONLINE or FULL FACE-TO-FACE classes. This means that students enrolled in the face-to-face classes are expected to learn FSL by attending in-campus sessions each week. Likewise, students enrolled in online sessions are expected to participate in the weekly video conferencing sessions. ALL students are to accomplish supplementary activities and exercises whether these take place online or in-person.
